Travel Photography  Workshop

Martha’s Vineyard, MA

About Martha’s Vineyard: Martha's Vineyard is beautiful  and calm at this time of year and with plenty photographic opportunities.

Located just 7 miles off the coastline of Massachusetts the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard is a world apart offers photographic settings like any other.

The unspoiled charm of Martha's Vineyard is probably best exemplified by the many scenic beaches located here. The beaches vary from protected, shallow, clear-water stretches on the northern and eastern sides of the Island to expanses of rumbling surf along the south side.

The town of Edgartown offer unique photo possibilities, from the unique charm oof the new England fishing village  to the whaling captains old houses , to the lighthouses and harbour.

The five lighthouses on the Island of Martha's Vineyard represent the most diverse group in a small, contained area in the country, according to lighthouse buffs. All of the lighthouses are on the north side of the Island: they look out over Vineyard Sound and Nantucket Sound, and over the entrance to Edgartown Harbor and Cape Poge.

The charm of the Menemsha fishing villege, the rolling hills of the agricultural heritage, the color of the gingerbread cottages of Oak Bluffs all blend together to create this special place for photography.

The workshop will combine photo field trips with hands on editing and workflow demonstrations. Topics will include Photography basic theory, Correct exposure, Rules of Compositions, Image editing software techniques. Travel photography tips and tricks, group sessions and ultimately , how to create your unique vision and message into your images.

The fee is $950 which will include a welcome dinner.

Limit: Maximum 10-12 photographers

Logistics and Transportation:

To get here you can come by sea or by air—there are no land routes, bridges or tunnels connecting us to the mainland. Most travelers arrive via one of the numerous ferries that service our harbors. A lesser but growing number use the Martha's Vineyard airport as their point of entry traveling via Cape Air or other commercial airlines or via private plane. The leisurely ferry ride or flight from the mainland will prepare you for a wonderful change of pace. The sound of the ocean, the magnificent beaches and almost endless stretches of field and forest will complete the transition. So come to the Vineyard, and see why so many people believe this is truly a magical place.
